Create more tutorials by Bobby BowenBobby Bowen, 28 Dec 2012 19:15

Dear members,

The tutorial page for alerts, functions and variables has been renamed as "Tutorial: Introduction to Alerts, Functions & Variables". Also, do note that a few test buttons have been added. We are trying to debug the identity() function on that page as of now as it does not seem to be working as yet.

Major Page Edits by chooyikaichooyikai, 15 Jul 2012 07:21

We are just cleaning our wiki before expanding it. Note that the update would require a site clone and it might take up to a year or two. We are now trying to finish our tutorial in JavaScript.

To all members,

The page titled "Basic Operators" has been created. However, the page is still short on content and we would encourage you to contribute to the list of operators. Also, "Alerts, Functions & Variables" has been updated with simpler and easier-to-understand examples of functions and function definitions.

Thank you.

EDIT: From now on posts such as these should be posted under the new thread, "Major Page Edits."

New Pages Up by chooyikaichooyikai, 27 Jun 2012 12:24

Here, JavaScript code takes case-by-case analysis or other things that may be slow loading. In this section, time taken for a code to finish working is essential. If there are any questions, you can always send a private message to the admins.

To all members,

The admins have discussed and we think that it would be more appropriate to post updates under this thread as compared to sending out frequent newsletters to you. Therefore, do check back here often as we may have announcements to make. On the other hand, there may still be the occasional newsletter being sent out - these will be less frequent now. To summarise, we are now using the forums as a dominant means of communication among members.

Thank you.

General Announcements by chooyikaichooyikai, 04 May 2012 12:29

Due to the need of more categories for ease of sorting up pages, this category might be renamed as
reference:pagename
for the benefit of the site admins. We apologize for the possible inconvenience and hope that you will continue supporting our site.

The page can be seen here.

Now due to $n!=n(n-1)!$,

We can get values of n! for $0<n<1$ to generate the rest of the factorials.

To all members,

It is possible we are creating a page lock for many pages. This is because we would not like inference in some pages that do not need maintenance by members, and can be done by the admins, for example, the starting page, as well as the previous post:

The pages JavaScript Libraries and JavaScript Mathematical Code have been locked due to specific reasons. The former has not been completed and the admins would not like interference while the page information is still being entered. The latter is locked as it is considered as a contents page and the admins will decide the contents that should be listed here. This is also explicitly stated at the bottom of the aforementioned page.

Thank you.

It could be possible that the possibility of site expansion is probable somewhere about 5th June. Stay tuned for more updates.

This page has been locked as it is not completed yet. This measure has to be taken to prevent random spamming of empty table cells by irresponsible members. It will be unlocked after the site admins have completed the formatting of the page.

The JavaScript Mathematical Code page has been locked to enforce the "site admins will help to update the lists" rule. Only admins and moderators with special privileges can edit it. Any code suggestions should go directly to the appropriate forum posts.

To all web designers reading this,

We may be considering a site expansion to web design, featuring sample JavaScript code everyone can use, including the use of CSS. Please comment.

Have an interesting idea?

Willing to share?

Or trying to program a code that will just not work?

Here is your chance to share with others your ideas and let them help you program. (Of course, the programmers would take the credit but if they are not that evil, they can give the credit to the person who spread the idea.) If there are any questions, send a private message to the admins. Also for bored people to do some JavaScripting.

This is the JavaScript code for a quiz. The problem is that there are semicolons in the strings.

function quizmaker(questions,quizname) {
var questionnumber=1;
var javascriptcode="function "+quizname+"() { \n";
javascriptcode+="var ans=\"@@\"\n";
while(questionnumber<questions+1) {
javascriptcode+="while (ans!=";
while(rightans!="@@") {
rightans=prompt("Type out the answer for question 1.");
}
javascriptcode+=rightans+") {\n";
javascriptcode+="ans=\"@@\";\n";
// Answer is recommended to be an integer.
javascriptcode+="alert("+questionnumber+". ";
thequestion=prompt("Input the question.");
// Question is recommended to be a multiple-choice question or a math question.
javascriptcode+=thequestion+"\");\n";
javascriptcode+="ans=prompt(\"Type in your answer.\");\n";
javascriptcode+="}\n";
questionnumber++;
}
javascriptcode+="alert(\"Congratulations! You have finished the quiz!\");\n";
javascriptcode+="}";
return javascriptcode;
}

Please help if you know how to.
Does \u003b work to replace semicolon?

This page is extremely empty. There are only mathematical functions so far. I would like people to just discuss a bit of code here and see if it can be categorized under more categories. Suggestions are different types of functions.

Content suggestions we consider include:

  • New pages

*New Javascript code

  • Other aspects of Javascript that we have not gone into detail about

These should not go under this thread:

  • Clarification of Javascript code (Goes under Page Errors)
  • Errors in code or text (Former goes under Page Errors, latter can be corrected by user)
Page Suggestions by chooyikaichooyikai, 11 Mar 2012 13:02

Types of error:

  • JavaScript Code errors
  • Page not linked properly

Not errors:

  • Page does not exist
  • Spelling/grammatical mistakes (correct them yourself)

This list is subject to change.
